Restaurant-Bar renowned for its traditional Algarve cuisine, situated in the centre of the picturesque town of Querença.
Composed of ground floor where the bar is located, with a pleasant terrace, and 1st Floor where you can enjoy an unforgettable gastronomic experience while enjoying a fantastic view of the Serra do Caldeirão.
Restaurant full of tradition, being a meeting point of several public and political figures, being considered in the 90s one of the 100 best restaurants in the country.
Querença is possibly one of the most picturesque villages in the Algarve. It has about 800 inhabitants and belongs to the municipality of Loulé. It is located in a fertile area, surrounded by spring water, in the Algarve countryside, between the barrocal and the mountain. In fact, its designation comes from the hill with the same name, through which the white coat emerges.
Those who like gastronomy, make the stop in Querença a tour also by the Algarve flavors, being the stews of wild boar and rabbit, some of the best known dishes, to which are added the Cherry Chicken, the Rooster of Cabidela and the Xerém (corn porridges, which are very traditional in the Algarve). But you can also taste chorizo, honey and medronho, regional products. In fact, this is where there is the Feast of Chouriças, a very traditional festivity, which takes place on the third Sunday of January.
In the center of the village, where the alva Mother Church (Church of Our Lady of the Assumption) – from the 16th century – stands is also the information station and a museum, the Water Museum Pole, showing the importance of water in this region. Also here, in a square that has been modernized, is an old cruise, surrounded by typical Algarve houses.
