Quinta da Ria is a magnificent golfing course that is located in a setting of grandeur, where the earth and its elemental endowments meet and commune. The 18-hole course can be enjoyed right in the middle of a natural setting, the Ria Famosa Natural Park, and all of natures best gifts can be found within. It is also surrounded by orange groves and vineyards, which augment the feeling of its being couched in an ideal setting. The large golf course is almost entirely flat, and it expands across an area of well over 600,000 square metres. It borders the beautiful and relaxing Ria Famosa, and offers not just an ideal setting for the ultimate golfing experience, but also provides holiday makers with a home away from all the unpleasantness of city life. The course is also sprinkled with lakes, to add beauty to the scene and a greater degree of challenge to the whole golfing experience. The Quinta da Ria also contains charming fauna in the form of birds and other small and pleasant animals.
The beautiful lakes, river and the green is also populated by majestic trees that add to the character of the course and increase the level of difficulty—making the golfing experience more interesting. In fact, the trees that can be found in the Quinta da Ria number over 300, and they perform also as a means of bordering the course. The trees also add a level of historical and ecological significance to the course, as many of them are over a hundred years old.
