Morgado Reguengo Golf Course
Course Information and Presentation
Situated near Alvor and north of Portimao in the Algarve’s western region, the Morgado Reguengo Golf Course is a relatively new course. It offers attractive inland views and spectacular surroundings. Nestled in the Monchique hills’ lower slopes through rolling valleys, the terrain is considered unique for a golf course. With its intrinsic characteristics, the Morgado Reguengo puts a golfer’s putting skills to the test.
The course employs strategic and clever bunker positioning, making a memorable game for most avid golfers. The course stretches to a great length, making it a challenge to big hitters. Absence of obstacles near greens make the course flexible; there is always more than one way to get the ball in the green.
The Morgado Reguengo presents a pleasant challenge to new and old golfers alike. The starting holes are deceptively easy, but things change by the time golfers get to the 3rd hole—a formidable par 5 with a stroke rating of 1. The first nine holes are relatively easy, but the second half, which are situated on hilly landscape with various natural and man-made hazards carved out from the land, are more testing and dangerous.
