Portugal was awarded total of 37 awards in the 2017 edition of the World Travel Awards in Europe category.

Portugal won for the first time the prize for the best European destination of the World  Travel Awards, the 'Oscars of Tourism' at a ceremony held yesterday  in St Petersburg, Russia.

The election, which distinguishes Turismo de Portugal from among the other nominees for this category, comes as a result of a vote attended by thousands of professionals from the sector from all over the world.

Portugal was awarded total of 37 awards in the 2017 edition of the World Travel Awards in Europe category.
